I'm a writer, a teacher, a wife, and a mom to one energetic and wonderfully precocious eleven-year-old boy. I live in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, which is a quiet suburb of Philadelphia. Despite the quiet setting, my day-to-day life is hectic! I teach first grade, which fills my days, but when I get home the real work begins...there is dinner to be made, lunches to prepare, lacrosse practice, homework...the moms out there know what I'm talking about! Somewhere in the midst of all this craziness, I manage to take some time to breathe, enjoy, and to write.
I have a sweet tooth, especially for m & m's and homemade chocolate chip cookies. I enjoy the tranquility of an art museum, love to travel, and would choose to be at the beach over anywhere else. Being near to the water is my quiet and peaceful place. The sound of the waves crashing to the shore is wonderfully soothing. I dream of someday living near the ocean, waking to the sound of the surf, the scent of salt air filling me up, preparing me for the day. For now I'm content with suburbia, beaming at the smile on my son's freckled face, catching the gentle glance from my husband, or hearing the quiet bark of a neighbor's dog. These are things that fill my days, that bring me joy, that keep me fueled for life.
Every day is a gift. I believe that you get what you give, so I try my best to approach each day with positive energy, light, and love.
